  • Automatic updates — Elyra Hex can now check elyrion.nl for new releases, show you what's new, and download and install them from inside the app. Opt-in on first launch, a "Check for Updates…" menu item, an Updates section in Settings, and a Software Update sheet that shows the release notes before it installs and relaunches.

  • The Walkthrough now covers Ruby and Sapphire — a complete main-game route for each (28 chapters, Littleroot Town through the Elite Four and Champion), so all three Hoenn games are now guided alongside FireRed/LeafGreen.
  • Emerald's walkthrough carries on into the postgame — the Battle Frontier, the postgame legendaries, the roaming Eon Pokémon via the S.S. Ticket, Steven's Beldum and the Desert Underpass, and the National Dex with the Johto starters, plus optional detours (Altering Cave, Trainer Hill, and the Match Call gym rematches).

  • The Hexdex opens on the Regional dex by default, and once a save is loaded it follows what that save has unlocked — National dex order the moment the National Dex is unlocked in-game, otherwise Regional. Your own choice from the order menu still sticks until the next save is loaded.

  • The Walkthrough's "Trainers Here" list now reads your real progress. It was showing 0 beaten even on a save that had cleared the route — it wasn't checking those trainers' defeat flags at all. It now marks each trainer beaten straight from your save.

  • An app-wide visual-consistency pass — text sizes, spacing and accent colors are unified across every screen against one shared token set, and a few content labels that didn't adapt to Light mode (near-invisible on a light background) now use theme-aware colors.

  • Records now reads your Hall of Fame — every League-winning team the game kept, each Pokémon with its level and details — plus a new Minigame & Link Records panel: Game Corner coins, Trainer Tower times, Berry Crush / Pokémon Jump / Dodrio Berry-Picking high scores, link-battle results, and on Emerald your Battle Frontier streaks and Contest Museum portraits. A running count of every Ribbon your Pokémon have earned rounds it out.
  • A Trainers browser in the Hexdex — search every trainer in your game, see their full team and levels, where they stand on the map, and their VS Seeker rematch teams.
  • An EV Training planner in the Hexdex — pick a stat and it ranks the best reachable spots to train it by the EV yield you'll actually get (spawn rate × yield), showing each wild Pokémon's yield.
  • Richer Hexdex entries — a plain-language ability description, EV-yield chips, a catch-difficulty band and held-item odds on wild Pokémon, and per-move help.
  • The Walkthrough gains search and filters, personal notes you can pin to any step, keyboard navigation, and a checklist you can export.
  • Deeper editing — edit your bag by pocket, your trainer name, money and play time, and import or export any Pokémon as a .pk3 file straight from the inspector.
Improved
  • The Walkthrough and Records screens now sit flush with the navigation rail (their headers no longer drop a few pixels below it), and the "catchable here" species chips are larger and easier to read — bigger text and bigger sprites.
Performance
  • The data-heavy screens are quicker — one shared database connection instead of three, prepared-statement and species caches, and save-state memoization so nothing is recomputed on every redraw.

  • Real catch odds, everywhere. Every catchable Pokémon now shows its true base per-encounter chance — the game's own slot percentages, read from the decomp encounter tables and summed per species. In the Walkthrough, each Pokémon in a step's "catchable here" groups carries a % chip and the groups now sort common-first, rarest-last; hovering explains exactly what the number means (base per-encounter chance — Abilities, the Safari Zone and Repel tricks aren't folded in). In the Hexdex, "top spots", the acquisition column and the compare view now rank locations by that true chance instead of a raw slot count, so the best place to actually find a Pokémon is the one shown first.

  • More of the FireRed and LeafGreen postgame is on the timeline — sweeping the S.S. Anne for one-time loot, the Fighting Dojo Hitmon, rescuing Lorelei in Icefall Cave, the Dotted Hole and Ruin Valley warehouse passwords, the Trainer Tower on Seven Island, the Four Island Day Care rival, and the HM item pickups that were missing.
  • The navigation rail's module icons now share one consistent bronze tone and weight (sampled from the walkthrough art), and the current module is marked by its gold glow alone — so inactive icons no longer look dimmed or drift a different colour.

  • A new Records module — your trainer's own history, read straight from your save. An in-game Trainer Card with its earned stars and each star's real criterion (Champion, the Kanto and National dex on FireRed/LeafGreen, the Battle Frontier on Emerald); a wall of achievements that tier up as you play (League wins, steps walked, Pokémon caught, eggs hatched, evolutions, trades, money, badges, shinies…); Emerald's Battle Frontier symbols; and a lifetime-stats table of every counter the game keeps, down to fun facts like how many times you've used Splash. Every number is read decisively from your save — nothing is guessed, and the stars a save genuinely can't prove are shown greyed with why, never faked.
  • The full Emerald Walkthrough. Emerald was an intro pilot before; it's now a complete, save-aware route — Littleroot Town through all eight Gyms, the Elite Four and Champion, and on into the postgame — the same tracked, expandable timeline FireRed already has.
Improved
  • The FireRed and LeafGreen Walkthrough now covers the optional side-trips and postgame the main route skipped — the Power Plant and Zapdos, the Seafoam Islands and Articuno, the in-game trades and more. Optional chapters are marked skippable, so a finished save is never nagged about content it legitimately passed on.
  • Every walkthrough step now leads with an at-a-glance glyph for what it asks you to do (catch, fight a Gym, grab an item, watch a cutscene…), and opening a chapter lands you on its first unfinished step instead of always the first.
  • Gym, Elite-Four and Champion steps now carry a battle card — the opponent's full roster with each Pokémon's weaknesses, plus how your party's levels compare when a save is loaded — and every step lists the items you can find on that route (item balls, hidden items and gifts).
Fixed
  • The Walkthrough's sideways journey strip no longer drifts up and down and its "you are here" pin no longer floats off — a strip that fits hides its scrollbar entirely, and a longer one keeps the slim bronze bar with no vertical slack. It also regrades your progress only when something actually changes (a save load or a manual tick) rather than on every redraw, so scrolling the long timeline stays smooth.

  • The Walkthrough now works out how far your save really is and grades every step from there. Most FireRed and LeafGreen steps (81 of 90) now tick themselves straight from your save — badges, gym/Elite-Four/Champion wins, places you've visited, gifts and key items picked up, and scripted story beats — with no manual ticking. Steps your save is provably past but that have no single flag get a distinct 'presumed' mark, so an end-game save no longer reads as if you're still in Pallet Town.
  • Chapter progress rings — every stop on the journey scrubber shows a thin arc of how much of that chapter you've done, and gym medallions get a glowing gold arc (1 of 3 steps, and so on).
  • A Gyms lens in the Walkthrough — the full gym-leader, Elite-Four and Champion battle board (moved over from the Hexdex) now lives on the Walkthrough's journey bar. Every trainer shows each Pokémon's sprite, level and full moveset, and the Elite Four and Champion have a First / Rematch toggle for their upgraded post-League teams.

  • Next Objective now points at the first step you haven't reached from where your save actually is, so on a finished game it sends you into the postgame (the Sevii Islands, the legendaries) instead of back to the beginning.
  • Step details are laid out as blocks — the map, the "catchable here" groups, requirements and rewards sit side by side and wrap to your window instead of stacking as full-width cards.
  • The Trainer's Desk (coach tips and Routes to Revisit) now appears once, on the chapter you're actually on, instead of repeating under every chapter; other chapters get a "jump to where you are" chip.
Fixed
  • The Walkthrough's sideways journey strip uses the app's slim bronze scrollbar (no stray vertical bar), and its "you are here" pin and two-line chapter labels no longer clip — including after switching between acts (Start / Main Game / Post-Game).

  • A new Walkthrough — a complete, save-aware guide shown as one scrolling timeline. The full FireRed and LeafGreen route from Pallet Town through the Elite Four and Champion, plus a postgame section (the Sevii Islands, Cerulean Cave and Mewtwo, Tanoby Ruins and the Unown, and the event-ticket legendaries). Load a save and it tracks your progress, marks where you are, flags missable steps and points of no return, and suggests what to catch and how your team matches up against the next Gym.
  • The Walkthrough's milestones panel reads your save's real achievements — badges, how many times you've beaten the League, Pokédex progress (Kanto and National), Sevii Islands unlocked, play time, money and shiny count.
  • A new Item Hex — for every item, where to buy it (which shops and at what price) and where to find it (item balls, hidden items, gifts), plus its effect and search.
  • Special Events, in Settings — enable the real distribution events for your loaded save (the Eon, Mystic and Aurora Tickets and the Old Sea Map, for Latios/Latias, Lugia/Ho-Oh, Deoxys and Mew). Each unlocks only when your save meets the prerequisites the official events required.
  • A Legendaries board in the Walkthrough showing which legendaries you've caught and which you can reach right now.
Improved
  • The Hexdex now shows move-tutor locations and costs and Move Reminder info, with "?" links into the relevant game-mechanics guides.
  • The Hexdex, Walkthrough and Item Hex always follow your loaded save's exact game (or one you pick) — they never mix data from different games.
Fixed
  • The walkthrough's "Catchable here" list is grouped by what you need — catchable now, or after Surf, a rod, or Rock Smash — so it never implies you can catch water Pokémon before you can reach the water.
  • Location names read naturally ("Route 24" instead of "Route24") while floor codes like "B1F" stay intact.

  • Move Pokémon between your party and your PC boxes. Drag a party member from the sidebar onto a box slot to store it, or drag a boxed Pokémon onto a party member to take it back out — Elyra Hex handles the party ↔ box conversion for you. You can also copy any Pokémon and paste it straight into your party.
Improved
  • Auto Heal is now a full Pokémon Center visit — as well as topping up HP it restores every move's PP and clears status conditions like sleep, poison and burn.
  • Dragging an IV or EV slider is now a single tidy change you can undo in one step, instead of leaving dozens of tiny steps in your Undo history.
Fixed
  • Changing a Pokémon's level now keeps its experience in step, so the level always reads consistently and stays legal.
  • Opening another save while you have unsaved edits now asks first instead of silently discarding them, and Save As now makes a backup before it writes.
  • The Edited marker now clears if you undo all the way back to your last saved state.

  • A slim, always-visible bronze scrollbar throughout the app — it matches the app's look instead of the default grey macOS bar, and quietly shows you when a panel can scroll.
  • Refined typography across the app: large headings and titles now read as clear warm-white text rather than metallic gold, with softer dividers and quieter section labels.
  • The Hexdex score dials are lighter and better balanced — thinner rings, a slimmer number, smaller labels, and the Intrinsic and Save-Adjusted dials now line up neatly.
  • The party cards in the Save Browser sit a touch taller so the Add-Monster panel is evenly spaced beneath them.

  • The Hexdex — a living Pokédex that knows your game and your save. Browse every Generation III species and see its stats, moves, biology and full evolution line, an at-a-glance "is it worth using" score, and where it lives on the region map.
  • Acquisition planner — for any Pokémon, a step-by-step route to get it in YOUR game (catch, evolve, breed, trade, gift, or a fixed/event encounter), each step ticked off against your save. Legendaries and event Pokémon get a map pin too, and you can add a legal copy — or evolve one as if traded — in one click.
  • Competitive sets tailored to each game — real Generation III sets that are actually legal in your version (FireRed and LeafGreen differ from Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald). Pokémon that were never used competitively now clearly say "None available" instead of a made-up set.
  • Mechanics Guides and a version Compare tool, both a click away in the Hexdex.
  • The ticket-event legendaries — Deoxys, Lugia, Ho-Oh and Latios/Latias — are now obtainable in FireRed and LeafGreen too.

  • A cleaner Hexdex — its columns line up with the menu, Guides and Compare moved up into the top bar, and a small info icon at the bottom of the menu credits the game data.
  • The Sevii Islands map is now readable: it zooms to the island group that actually holds the pin.
Fixed
  • Legendaries and other Pokémon that can't breed no longer show egg-hatching information they can never use.
  • Tidied the competitive data — removed a couple of joke and impossible sets and corrected a wrong stat spread.

  • Know your trainer at a glance — the trainer card now reads your money, gym badges and play time straight from the save, right beside your name and ID.

  • The inspector's Summary, Stats, Moves and Info tabs now share one clean layout, with crisp outlined chips for type, stats and a move's physical/special class.
  • The Add-a-Pokémon sheet was rebuilt to match the inspector — Identity, Traits, Stats, Moves and Origin each get their own titled card, the Party/Box destination moved down into the action bar for more room, and everything fits without a scrollbar.
  • Settings and What's New are now in-app panels in the same codex style, instead of a separate preferences window.

  • The Create-a-Pokémon sheet now matches the inspector — its Stats and Moves tabs use the same colour-coded IV/EV sliders and move cards (type and physical/special chips, Power / Accuracy / PP, and plain-language effect text for status moves), Nature, Origin Game, Poké Ball and Language use the inspector's menus, Level is a stepper and Friendship a slider, and the whole sheet sits on the app's hexagon backdrop instead of a flat grey panel.

  • Presets tab — one-click competitive loadouts (moves, EVs/IVs, held item, ability, nature) for any Pokémon, applied in a single undoable step.
  • Best presets are per-game: each Pokémon shows up to two genuinely different builds — an offensive set and a utility/annoyer — for whichever game your save is. Emerald uses the curated Smogon Gen III sets; Ruby/Sapphire and FireRed/LeafGreen use a built-in competitive engine. Every move is legal in that exact game, so applying a set never trips a warning.
  • In-game move and item effect text throughout the preset cards.

  • Beginner-friendly preset cards — status moves explain what they do, attack moves show Power/Accuracy/PP, held item and ability are labelled with their effect, EVs render as stat-tinted chips, and the primary build is flagged "Best".

  • Icons throughout the editor — moves show their type and physical/special class, and the nature, Poké Ball, origin game, language and OT fields gained glyphs for faster scanning.
Fixed
  • Held-item lists no longer include placeholder or internal entries — only the real items that can legally exist in the open game.

  • Fully offline by design — the "fetch sprites from PokeAPI" preference is gone and the app no longer reaches the network; every Pokémon, held-item and trainer sprite now ships inside the app.

  • The whole save — browse and edit the party and all 14 PC boxes, build a Pokémon from scratch, drag-and-drop to move or swap, copy / paste, and undo / redo.
  • Bundled Generation III sprites (regular + shiny), so the app works fully offline.
  • Native SwiftUI throughout — Liquid-Glass chrome, light & dark, full keyboard navigation and VoiceOver, and a Settings pane (⌘,).
Safety
  • Your save is never corrupted: the parse→write round-trip is byte-identical, the document is validated before every write, and the original file is automatically backed up before the first save.
